Our culture today is all about pleasing other people. Most entertainment shows are meant to entertain the audience, but is that how our lives should be lived? Should we live every single day hoping to please people? Should people be our audience? The answer is NO. Life would have no purpose if we only lived to please others and live by others standards.
Ephesians 6:5-7 says this, “Bondservants, be obedient to those who are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in sincerity of heart, as to Christ; not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart, with goodwill doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men…” Colossians 3:22 also says, “Bondservants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh, not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but in sincerity of heart, fearing God.” Clearly, the Bible tells us not to be men-pleasers. What profit do we get anyway? Nothing! Yes, we get temporary recognition, but will that change where we go when we die? No! What counts is how you live your life. If you live it totally for Jesus Christ, your reward will be Heaven. If you don’t there is no reward except eternal life in Hell. I know, this sounds harsh, but God is not a softy. He is full of love and mercy, yes, but He is also a God of justice. The righteous are saved, the wicked are not.
So because there is no profit in pleasing men, why not live your life according to God’s standards, pleasing HIM! Be a God-pleaser, not a man-pleaser. Accomplishments are wonderful, and its totally OK to accomplish things here on this earth. But remember to do them for God. This blog that I have is not entirely for your entertainment. Yes, its nice to read about someone’s life, likes and dislikes, but ultimately, I want this blog to glorify God. Each post needs to be pleasing to Him. So, live like God is right there watching you….in fact, He actually is so you have no excuse!
