“Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from destruction, who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that youth is renewed like the eagle’s. The Lord executes righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed. He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the children of Israel. The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in mercy. He will not always strive with us, nor will He keep His anger forever. He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor punished is according to our iniquities. For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is His mercy toward those who fear Him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us. As a father pities those who fear Him, for He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust.”
~Psalms 103: 1-14~
I read this is my devotional today and I had to blog on it! God’s love towards us is so amazing, that sometimes it is hard to express in words. These few verses, I believe, describe it beautifully. Like it says in verse 2, “forget not all His benefits.” This is so true. God has many blessings to give us, we just need to believe in Him and live for Him. We also see ways that God loves us. He forgives our sins, heals our illnesses, redeems our lives from destruction, crowns us with lovingkindness and tender mercies, satisfies our mouth with good things, executes righteousness, is merciful, is slow to anger, and is gracious. WOW! What an awesome God we serve! No one can say that their god is this amazing! Buddah, Allah, celebrities, etc…no god that man worships is as great as our GOD!!! What a comfort it is to read these few verses. If you are having a bad day, or even a great day, these words are always pleasant to hear. Today, I hope you are reminded how much God loves you and wants you to submit your life totally and completely to Him! Below is a video link to Matt Redman’s “10,000 Reasons” song.
Have a great day in Him! 🙂
